Finnerty Good Sportsmanship Award                     Gymnastics Class

The Rutherford Recreation Department is committed to providing our residents, both the young and the “young at heart”, with programs that foster a sense of community,  sportsmanship and well-being.

We are continually seeking creative, dedicated individuals to help bring safe, enjoyable leisure opportunities to Rutherford residents  If you have a special talent to offer or are interested in volunteering, coaching or teaching a special class, we want YOU!

We are also looking for sponsors to help defray the cost of our “Special Events” such as the Annual Fireworks Celebration,  Volunteer Dinner Dance, Annual Egg Hunt,  etc.  If you know of an individual or company that may be interested, we would appreciate them contacting the Recreation Department.

Thank you to our many volunteers for helping to make these programs flourish.  The spirit of teamwork is admirable and helps to enhance our quality of life.

Also, thank you to our Honorable Mayor and Council Members and the Board of Education for their support and dedication to fostering a recreational community that provides a multitude of activities and events for all Rutherford residents.

Some additional programs we are offering are events and programs for the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign and 4H programs.

We are always looking to offer more programs and events.  Please send any suggestions to
