Congratulations to Jack Patti & Owen Meister whom are the recipients of the Anthony Azzolini Good Sportsmanship Award.

This award is presented to a Sr. wrestler that represents and displays the ability, character, good sportsmanship and spirit of fair play that Anthony exemplified.

Anthony Azzolini wrestled for Rutherford High School.  He was one of those competitors who was always in the fight and never quit.  He was always striving to learn and do better the next time. He made sure no matter what the challenge he gave it his all and did so with sportsmanship, character and integrity. Anthony never boosted about his accomplishments but just enjoyed the fight and the competition.

Besides wrestling Anthony enjoyed playing baseball and golf.  He loved life and lived it to the fullest.  He was a prankster who had a laugh that was very contagious.  He adored his four children, Lyndsey, Anthony, Christopher and Jill and they have inherited his love of sports.  Anthony was a great son, brother, husband, uncle and father.  His love of sports will live on through this sportsmanship award:

“Remember a life and legacy bonded by wrestling, a tribute to an enduring spirit”.
